Accolade Support is seeking both customer service agents and outbound sales telemarketers to work with them as independent contractors. They’re both temporary or project-based positions, though they advertise the customer service agents have the possibility of a longer term. To qualify, you should enjoy speaking with other people, have brilliant communication skills, and sales skills as well. Their customer service agents must be working on PCs while the sales position accommodates both PC and Mac-users. Outbound sales requires two years or more of experience working in a call center and with cold calls.

Allegis Transcription regularly looks for more transcriptionists at all levels – entry-level and experienced – as well as legal transcriptionists. For entry-level transcriptionists, you should be available to do daily training for 2-3 weeks, have a minimum typing speed of 75 WPM, and be both tech-savvy and possess incredible English language skills. Experienced positions also require experience with verbatim transcription, experience with insurance or legal transcription, and the ability to average 100 or more transcript pages every 8-10 hours. PC users only.

Alorica has a robust work-from-home program and is always looking for more customer service agents to assist their client’s customers. They offer flexible schedules to fit everyone from college students to stay-at-home moms to retirees and include paid training once you’re hired. The application process includes a job fit assessment to determine whether you’d fit best in a sales, technical, or customer service position.

American Airlines periodically hires people to work as work-from-home reservation agents, and the positions are primarily available to those in the Miami, FL area. Requirements include having a high school diploma (or equivalent) and living within a certain distance from their offices (75 miles). They provide paid training, though it seems to be on-site. Flexibility in scheduling is available, though working on weekends, nights, and holidays may be required. You should be tech savvy, proactive, and a critical thinker – these skills will help you excel at providing customer support on Apple products via phone or chat. These are actual employee positions and benefits are available even for part-timers, including discounts on products and PTO. They also provide an iMac and headset for you to use for the job! There’s opportunity to advance with the company in this role as well.

CACTUS Communications provides editing and writing services to academics who have studied English as a Second Language and need help making their scientific research or scholarly publishing more easily accessible globally. They hire for both full-time work-at-home positions and freelance positions. Available positions may involve medical writing and editing, biochemistry editing, engineering editing, and more. Besides a high understanding of English and good writing skills, you may be required to hold a college degree or advanced degree for many of these positions.

CenturyLink is an expanding Fortune 500 company who needs tech support and virtual sales reps. Tech support means listening to their customers and finding solutions for their problems or concerns, while sales reps will have access to their resources to drive successful sales. In the past, these positions have required home-based reps to have a landline phone and be computer savvy. You should also have some call center experience and flexibility in your availability.

Concentrix has been investing in the work-at-home model for some time and employs remote workers for many different roles with the company. In general, to succeed with them, you should be self-motivated, organized and disciplined; you must also be personable and have effective communication skills. During their business hours, you can chat online with Concentrix employees to get more insight on the company; you can also email them directly. Requirements for their roles vary, but you may be expected to have at least a Bachelor’s degree and experience in the area you’re applying.

Emerge BPO hires Customer Service Advisors to interact with customers over both phone and email to answer their questions, provide product information, place orders, resolve concerns, and more. You should also be upbeat and persuasive with customers, and you’ll need to be flexible, make recommendations, and follow through on every resolution process. A high school diploma (or equivalent) is required. Beginning pay depends on your experience, and this is a part-time position with hours between 7AM-8PM EST on weekdays.

Equivity is a virtual assistant service connecting qualified support folks to individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs in need of VA assistance. They hire for general VA positions as well as those specific to graphic design, copyrighting, paralegal (state-specific) and more. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, 3 or more years of experience as a C-level executive assistant, and the ability to work within normal business hours.

Gabbyville provides their clients with virtual receptionists or customer support reps, and you’ll find these positions most often listed on FlexJobs. Duties for these positions include processing emails, generating sales leads, handling customer complaints, answering incoming calls, assisting customers, and more. For the receptionist positions, you must be able to type 50 WPM or better. To be notified whenever they’re hiring for one of these positions, set up an alert on your FlexJobs account.

Hilton is big on hiring folks to work from home, running their Hilton Reservations and Customer Care department digitally. They hire for both reservation sales and customer care positions: customer care reps should be great listeners and communicators who are patient and can build a positive rapport with customers, while their reservation sales reps must likewise be great communicators who are also persuasive and provide top-notch customer service. Hilton provides some of the equipment necessary for the job, including a Thin-Client computer along with keyboard, mouse, and headset. You’ll need to provide the monitor and high-speed Internet access in a quiet home workspace.

HSN hires work-from-home sales representatives in specific locations in Florida to handle inbound calls. These positions require active listening and a professional, enthusiastic demeanor. You must have a quiet home space to work in, a high school diploma (or equivalent), experience in customer service, and a home phone number with a specific area code. They offer benefits and advancement within the company. Filter jobs by “work at home” when searching.

KellyConnect is looking for remote workers to join their virtual call center – in this role, you would provide technical assistance to their customers so they can use their devices like MP3 players, smartphones, tablets, and more. If you’re comfortable with chatting online or through instant messages and you’re great at multitasking, they may have a position for you. You must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate your customer service skills. They also advertise that advancement with the company is possible and they pay weekly. Paid training is $12-$14 hourly while your earning potential while on the job is between $15-$17 per hour.

Liveops is always looking for agents to join their virtual call center, and say that you can set your own schedule. They advertise earning potentials for folks who work between 20 hours and 30 hours a week, with earnings falling between $200 and $650 per week. Many of their independent contracting opportunities pay per-talk-minute, meaning you get paid more the more you connect with clients. They also provide tools to help you build skills and manage your own schedule.

Mindojo is looking for remote workers for positions as varied as sales consultants to lesson writers to software engineers – all to work on their adaptive online learning platform. Sales reps should have at least 3 years of experience in online sales support, while writers will need to demonstrate mastery of their subject area – so accounting writers should have experience teaching engaging lessons and ACT/SAT prep lesson writers should have previous experience tutoring effectively. They do not advertise pay rates, just that their offers are competitive and include bonuses.

Net Transcripts periodically looks for more transcriptionists across various types of jobs, such as Law Enforcement/Criminal transcription, Medical transcription, and even bilingual work in Spanish. Requirements may include previous verbatim transcription experience with multiple speakers. You’ll find that transcription jobs are available each weekday and required turnaround times vary from same day to 5 business days. You must be a citizen of the United States to work with them.

Sitel offers another customer service opportunity for work-at-home folks, where remote workers accept inbound calls and field customer queries such as billing questions, product questions, troubleshooting, or installation scheduling. These positions include paid training, benefits like medical and dental for full-timers, vacation and holiday pay, and more. Even better, these are employee positions! Pay is hourly (with performance-based incentives possible) and their employees can be paid via direct deposit.

Sutherland offers their work-from-home employees (yes! These are employee positions) a full set of benefits including PTO, health benefits, career development, and more. They also offer flexible scheduling, performance incentives to pay, and the opportunity to advance with the company. As an agent with Sutherland, you’re assigned to a specific program, working with one of Sutherland’s clients – most often to provide customer service. Paid training is provided on all programs so you have extensive support, and a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.

The SYKES Home team are those work-from-home representatives that provide customer service for their clients in various languages and various countries. You’ll take inbound calls back-to-back and help solve customer concerns. Requirements include being a savvy user of and communicator over the phone and computer, being team-oriented, and having the skills to quickly build an empathetic rapport with callers. They offer plenty of entry-level opportunities as well, so you’re not even required to have previous customer service experience (though it’s preferred). Scan through their available positions until you find the one closest to you in Florida.

TransPerfect is looking for native speakers of English (among other languages) who are huge fans of TV, movies, and other video content to freelance for them: as an independent contractor, you may work on projects including transcription, translation, subtitling, and more. You must pay close attention to detail, have excellent language skills in the languages that you speak, and have flexibility in their fast-paced environment.

U-Haul is looking for sales, reservations, and customer service agents to work from home in Florida. They also need roadside assistance agents. You should have at least 6 months of call center experience within the last 5 years, and general knowledge of US geography. You should be an active listener, an efficient communicator, and have a positive attitude as well. Schedules may vary and they require you be available to work holidays. Some positions could pay between $14-$18 per hour.

23. VIPKid

VIPKid works with native English teachers to bring one-on-one classes to young students across China – you don’t even have to prepare your own lessons as they provide all materials. To qualify for this position, you must have a Bachelor’s degree (no specific subject required). Kick off your application by submitting your resume, then you’ll go through an interview, a mock class, and then a contract offer if they’d like to work with you. They advertise that their teachers can make up to $22 per hour once bonuses and other items are assessed over the base rate. Payment is made twice a month via direct bank deposit.

World Travel Holdings works with big travel brands, and their work-at-home reps both sell and service cruise and resort vacations for their clients. They provide extensive training for their home reps, and specify that you cannot live in the same residence as a current WTH employee. They will provide you with a work computer (though they charge a $250 deposit on this, spread out over five paychecks) along with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, phone, and headset. You must have a traditional landline phone or digital voice service (no VOIP) and high-speed Internet access. These are employee positions that include benefits and PTO along with travel discounts and perks.

Boldly hires virtual assistants across the United States. They are specifically looking for those with 7+ years of professional experience and exemplary references. Virtual Assistants must be available to work during regular business hours and can commit to 20-25 hours per week. Their current need is for Executive Assistants, Marketing & Social Media Specialists, Project Managers and Paralegals.
